Connects but no internet in WIN2k

Have a problem in Win2k where the modem connects but I cannot browse or use any internet related apps. Have tried different browsers and recreating the connection.. Any help would be muchly appreciated..

Sounds like a possible DNS problem. DNS takes the user friendly addresses you type in and translates them to IP addresses. The easyest way for you to confirm that this itsthe problem you need to try to visit a site by it's IP address. Type 69.93.141.100 into your browsers address bar and post back with the results. If you get to computing.net then it's a DNS problem, if not it's something else.

Thanks Totty I tried this but no luck. I can't use third party apps either ( Win mx, MSN messenger), so I think it might be a problem with the PPP adaptor? Any other ideas?

Have you checked to see what the Proxy is set at? You want the Tools/Internet Setings/connection/LAN settings to be set to "automatically detect settings". Ensure the Proxy Server is not selected.
