Hello all. The problem I'm having is when I try to connect my Win NT 4.0 workstation to a printer installed locally on a Win2k Pro PC on my network. It's an HP LaserJet 1100. When I attempt to connect to the printer, I get a message saying that the PC I'm trying to connect to does not have the correct driver installed, and asks if I want to install the driver locally. I click yes, point to the correct driver on the CD (I'm sure it's the right driver, because I installed the printer locally on the NT PC with no problems) and get the following error message: "Printer device setup error. The printer driver is unknown." I also get an error message when I try to install the NT drivers directly onto the Win2k PC. I had no problems with the Win 98 drivers, which I loaded right onto the Win2k PC without any trouble. I apologize for my wordiness here, but I wanted to be as specific as possible. If anyone can offer me any help here, or has had the same trouble, please let me know. Thanks!
Regards,
Seth

I tried to do that. That's how I installed the Win 9x drivers. But when I try to install the NT drivers, I get a message saying that "The printer driver you selected is either not compatible with your current version of windows, or it may not be available." Like I said before, I was able to load the Win 9x drivers onto the Win2k machine without a problem.

That was one of the first things I tried, and was how I loaded the Win 9x drivers. However, when I try to do the same with the NT drivers, I get an error message, saying that the driver I selected is not compatible with my current version of Windows.

Why not share the printer off the NT workstation? Tried that?

Yes, I tried that too. When I do that, the 2000 PC can't add it. Drivers for the HP Laserjet 1100 are built in to windows 2000, and it doesn't let you specify the device to add if you can't install the drivers with the "have disk" option.
