Hi all,

A bit of a strange problem. The first time I attempt to enter standby after booting up my computer, it works fine. When I come out of standby, everything is fine. When I try to enter standby again, I then get an error msg stating that the device driver for my scanner (parallel port scanner) is preventing this operation.

Why would it work the first time, and then not afterwords? Always, after a total shutdown, then start up again, I can enter standby once, then not again until I shutdown again.

Thanks,
Ladybug

Standby has always been a pain on PC's. Try setting it to "Never" and use the "Turn off Monitor" and "Turn off Hard Drive" settings instead. They'll do the same job and work properly.
