About a month ago I installed a new power supply and now occasionally the machine won't post. The fan turns on and all the peripherals light up but it won't post and boot up. All I have to do is hit the restart button and it always posts on this second try.

This only seems to happen when the computer has been shut down for more than a couple hours. If I shut down and start up again, it posts on the first try.

Very strange. Any ideas?

this is just a speculation, I have no
deffinite answer, but perhaps you could
try replacing that little watch battery on the
motherboard.

The same is happening all of sudden to my computer, which hasn't had a change in months. I suspect it's precisely the power supply, which is about 7 years old :). I still have to get another one to try it.
