Did you plug the power plug for the CPU's cooling fan into the motherboard's power recepticle? Are you using the stock AMD heatsink and cooling fan? Did you remove the protective covering off the thermal pad? Are you using an aftermarket heatsink and fan? Did you apply and very thing layer of thermal paste on the CPU before you installed it. Is the heatsink installed correctly and not reversed?

Forgot to ask, have you tried using a regular mouse and keyboard, instead of the wireless ones?

no, i'm not using the stock amd cooling fan, everything's plugged in. i haven't tried a wireless mouse/keyboard yet. right now i'm thinking that it could be either power supply or motherboard, i'm not too sure about that thremal paste.

Did you install the aftermarket heatsink/fan? Did you remove the protective film from the heatsink when you applied the thermal paste? The best paste to use is Artic Silver III, but most aftermarket companies supply a tube of generic white paste. You have to be carefull, because it easy to use to much. A small drop and a credit card, or another flat plastic device, to spread it evenly over the entire flat surface of the CPU without getting any paste on any of the surrounding areas is all that is needed.

I thought the ECS motherboard you are using does not support the AMD 2400 CPU without a BIOS update, have you done one?
