Now and then my computer resets, it is only ever when I am using it and never when I aren't using it.
I would like to know is there some log file or is there a program I can use to see what happened just before my computer reset? So I can uninstall or somehow rectify the problem file/s.

The biggest cause of random rebooting is overheating. Ensure all fans are working inside the computer and make sure it has free air flow around it (ie: if you have one of those cute computer desks with a special bay for the computer, take it out and put it under, on top of, or beside the desk.

I ran into a similar problem on 98. It ended up being the video card settings. Once I reduced the number of colors from 24 bit to 16 bit, it never happened again.

There may be a solution to your problem if you do the following : Right-click the "My Computer" icon and go to Properties. Then select "Advanced" and "Startup and Recovery". If you look there, you will find an option "Automatically Reboot". Uncheck it. if it is checked, it means that every time a system failure occurs (when the resources of your computer are very low for example) the system reboots.
