computer not booting

ok when i was making a partition for the drive i was going to put win 98 on the computer like shut off and it won't boot up. When i turn it on i hear it search for the drive but nothing happens the screen is blank and all the lights on the computer just stay on

hiya i need some more info where did you try to partition hard disk for win 98. also how many hard disks do u have i need some more info to help you.
When you reboot do u see anything on the screen not even the memory checks and hard disk detection? also is there a bleep? it might be your grapihcs card not sure but just guessing let me know yeah

i was in ms-dos prompt and i have 4 drives o my cpu C,D,E,F. I was making the dos partition on my D drive and when i selected partition it shut off.
and when i rebbot the screen is blank nothing shows up on the screen and no there is no hard disk decetion. There is no beep when i start up i hear the cpu searching for the hard drives and then nothing it ust stops

Read in an other post on this forum that someone is suffering from more or less the same problem.
Furthermore, I had about the same problem a few weeks ago. As newtchie mentioned, in my case, the graphics card had gone. Replacing it solved my problem.
