I have a 466MHz, 128 KB, 10 GB system on which I just recently upgraded (?) from win98 to 2000. I shut down my computer and when I went to power on later the computer won't finish it's start up. It is stuck at "Verifying DMI Pool Data". Does anyone know what that means? Why is it not loading? Was this problem caused by windows? Any helpful advice that anyone can offer would really be appreciated.

Your computer bios is finding something different in the hardware config in your setup and more than likely you have Update (in the bios) set to No or disabled. If you change this to Yes, or enabled; then it will continue booting up. NOTE: some bios will reset this to No or Disabled after each boot.
You don't say which bios/motherboard you have, or whether you have the book for the motherboard. The options is (in my motherboard manual PNP/PCI Configuration Page the option is RESET CONFIGURATION DATA and it is defaulted to Disabled.
