Comment: On a particular PC, no matter what I do the computer goes into sleep mode and the only way to fix this is to restart the pc. I selected the following options within Display in the control panel....screen saver=none and in the power settings, TURN OF MONITOR=NEVER TURN OFF HARD DISKS=NEVER please help! thanks!

Reply: (edit)It might be in the BIOS settings. Reboot your computer, and enter the setup (post back with your computer model if you are not sure how to get there) and look for PME, or Power Management, or anything similar, and see if you find a setting in there that would be causing it. -Dave C

Reply: (edit)Also - you can go into the control panel and look for similar options, i'm on an NT machine at this moment so i cannot look, but I think in the control panel it's called power management or power options. i realize you have the monitor and hard disk boxes unchecked - there are both standby and hibernation settings as well. turn standby option to never and uncheck the "enable hibernation mode" checkbox as well. hope this helps!

Reply: (edit)Dear Nidhi, your computer goes to sleep mode due to Power Saving features of it. if u have done all the settings from the contorl pannel then go to your bios setup options of the PC , you can go there by pressing key when u start ur pc then go to Power manangerment option and desable them in the setup of BIOS, then only this problem can be sort out. Bye Rupesh
