Ok, My computer has the Freeware version of ZoneAlarm on it and AVG AntiVirus. It has been working fine for awhile with both of these programs, but lately as of the last week, all of a sudden, some programs literally freeze on opening and wont open, like Nero. It takes awhile to boot up and kinda freezes when loading the task bar then resumes after a bit. When using Inet explorer, I can't type the address for example like this: computing.net, or www.computing.net if i do this and hit enter it hangs and doesn't do anything. If however I type http://computing.net or http://www.computing.net it will go to the webpage, never had this problem before though. Anyways, i tried defragging the drive and didn't do anything, I was wondering if i needed to run scandisk, but i Don't know how to do that on Win2000. Any suggestions on what it might be or how to fix the problem? Also, if i go to trendmicro.com and do an online scan, after it asks me to download, the window freezes and hangs.
