I would like to compare four numbers in an excel spreadsheet and would like to assign positions to the numbers based on the numbers. The highest being first and the lowest being fourth.
I do not know visual basic so is there someway in excel that this can be achieved without using visual basic.

The only option I know of is writing a macro to do this, and Excel Macros use VB.

Give it a try though. :)

WTF? This is a Windows 2000 support forum, not an Excel forum. Please direct your questions to the appropriate location.

You can use Data - Sort if you just want the numbers in order.

If you want them to appear in other cells also click on the other cell and Type = followed by the cell reference you are copying.
