LOL
ok so this thing is like 10 yrs old and I am trying to figure out if the WIN2000 OS install disk is going bad or is my laptop harddrive or whatever is going bad.
Its constanly having issues with the OS.
So far there will never load:
msvcp50.dll
msvcrt20.dll
rsvp.exe
rsvp.ini
sam.vc_.
I can sometimes get on the internet and play around for like 30mins but then sure enough I get the lovely BLUE SCREEN of death.
I added the link to a .pdf site that is the specs of my laptop in the homepage URL
Please HELP!!!
I cannot afford a new computer...

Hi, As far as I know Blue Screen Of Death ussually occurs because a lack of memory....

If your laptop is 10 years old, without the proper upgrades to it - it is very likely not sufficient enough to run Windows 2000.

Try 98 :)

I actaully have added an additional memory stick on the bottom of the laptop. I forget how much I have now on it. Its actually been running WIN2000 on it for over two years just fine. I would actaully run the laptop thru a new OS load every 6 months, cause it gets cluttered and its easier to just reload it then clean it out. I have pulled the laptop apart a few times and made sure all my connections are good. I been wondering if its possible to upgrade the HD if they are not too expensive...

The missing files are most likely corrupted system files.

Try contacting COMPAQ about upgrading your hard drive... See what they say ;)

Hi,

even running XP on this old machine, we call it "TheDino" here ;)
Surely RAM is the delimiter here besides only 380Mhz of the CPU. Max is RAM 384MB.
2000 was running fine too, and even faster.
BIOS is 7/1999 which is probablay the latest.
