was having problems with my cd burner (bottom). Gateway sent me a new one-we installed it, and now when I eject a disk from the cd tray (top) my computer automatically reboots. Then a blue screen comes up saying "dumping physical memory to disk" with lots of numbers such as STOP oxoooooo7f COXoooooooo81, etc. It wasn't doing this before I changed out the burner. I put the old burner back in--it still reboots. It doesn't reboot if the tray is empty, only if there is a CD in it. It will read and play the CD-you just can't eject it!! A few months ago, my comp. would reboot itself when I opened real player from the program. We did a registry clean out, reinstalled real player and that fixed it. Can you help? No one knows. Gateway just wants to reformat----of course!. THANK YOU Luana

basically whats happening is your getting a conflict where 2 devices are trying to use the same memory address usually its corrected automatically in xp sometimes its not i would do as suggested above and try reinstalling the driver if that doesnt work try manually changing the burners memory address its not an easy thing so if you are not comfortable doing it call up gateway and have them do it
