I'm not really sure what the difference is between command.com and cmd.exe in Windows 2000. I'm using VNC to remote control some DOS boxes and this works well except for cursor keys. The VNC people say that one or the other may be better.

There is a differene. Cmd.exe is the one to use in w2k. Command.exe is a command interpreter that is there only for backward compatibilty for older programs.
Many people think they are the same thing. They are not. Many commands in cmd.exe will not work properly in command.exe.

Thanks Geln. I suppose that I'm trying to run an "older program". It actually runs OK in Cmd.exe it's just the "finer points" I was interested in.
