color depth is now 16,want 256

Hi,
I just installed Win2000 on my computer but my screen has now only 16 colors instead of 256. Does anybody know how I can upgrade this?

If it doesn't tell you in device manager, open the case and see what you have.

isn't there another way them opening the case to find out the kind of video card? I don't see it in my device manager.

right click on your desktop click on properties, then go to settings and it should be listed there.

Also, on that same screen you should be able to change that setting right under where the card is listed.

Check with the mfg's website look up the type of computer you have i.e.if its Gateway there is a serial number on the side of the pc to enter on their site. Get the info go to www.driversplantet.com and viola.
