I am trying to get an older computer running for my little nephew and i have all the nesesary requirements for windows 2000. I have all the drivers for it but my video card is giving me error message "code 12" This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system. (Code 12) I have tryed to reinstall the driver, and it picks up the files for it but when i restart, the driver is there but with a "!" besids it.
Please help.
Thank you.
Cesar.

From Microsoft.com:
"Two devices have been assigned the same I/O ports, the same interrupt, or the same Direct Memory Access channel (either by the BIOS, the operating system, or a combination of the two). This error message can also appear if the BIOS did not allocate enough resources to the device (for example, if a universal serial bus (USB) controller is not an interrupt from the BIOS because of a corrupted Multiprocessor System (MPS) table).
You can use Device Manager to determine where the conflict is and disable the conflicting device. On the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the Troubleshooting Wizard."

Look in the BIOS screens for a listing called Plug & play aware OS. If this is available then enable it. That will allow Windows to configure all the hardware correctly.
Another option you may have is to assign IRQ for video/graphics. If you have that option then enable it.
OEM computers usually have limited BIOS selections so I am not sure what options you may have.
Do you know what OS originally came on the computer?

To add to my post above if you don't have the latest service packs for Win2000 you may run into problems installing drivers off a CD because they require later versions of DirectX than come with Win2000 and you can't install some versions of DirectX to Win2000 until you install the service packs.
If you read the requirements for the card you will see what I mean.
So update the service packs to SP4 at least BEFORE installing the graphic drivers if the card is relitively new.
