Having re-formatted my HDD, I load win 2000 Pro SP2 only to be told "load SP1" which I haven't got; is there any way round this?

Your trying to load the 'service pack 2'? You have to install the Operating System first, or have you? You can download both SP1 and SP2 from Microsoft's Windows Update Site.

Service Pack 2 contains ALL of the files from Service Pack 1.
Install Win2K from your original installation disk then upgrade to Service Pack 2.
