Hi,
I have a user who needs to have Chinese language installed on her Windows 2000 computer. I have gone into Regional Settings and set her up for Chinese Language. In the System Tray I see an icon where I can change from English to Chinese. When I click on Chinese, and type a document, I still see English. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
Thanks!

kari
even so you still have to install chinese fonts seperately into the fonts folder of the control panel but unforunately all the fonts are for sale i realy dont know of any free download fonts sorry !

the fonts are in the win2k pro CDROM. u
don't need to buy them.Assuming you need Simplified Chinese, input method using Hanyu Pinyin.
Use these settings:
In Regional Settings:
- General Tab:
- Your Locale: English (United States)
- Language Settings for the system: tick Simplified Chinese. Then click on the Set Default... button: Select Chinese (PRC). Then click Apple. Win2k will prompt u for Win2k CDROM.After that, Go to Input Locales to Add:
- Input Locale: Chinese PRC
- Keyboard Layout/IME: Chinese (Simplified) - QuanPin.but under in Regional Settings, Input Locales tab, leave the Default Input Language as English (United States).
any problems email me: shanghui@pacific.net.sg.
Sean.

I have a user who needs Chinese traditional installed under Windows 2000. I used the above method - and it works fine for Chinese simplified - as you get a little helper utility for building the characters. But when you select Chinese Traditional, all you get is English! I think it's because it's a US keyboard layout - but I'm not sure what to do. Anyone know how to resolve this? Thanks!
