I have Windows 2000 Professional at home and at my business. Both have DSL.
Recently, someone told me that my wife is putting on webcam performances during the day when I am at work. I don't know if this is true, but I would like to verify for myself.
I am not too good with networking and wondered if it would be easy to make my home computer communicate with my office computer using the internet? Also, can I do it without my wifes knowledge?
I would like to catch her in the act for legal purposes (I have quite a few assets that I would like to protect in the event we split).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your troubles but from the sounds of it you need marriage counceling not network assistance. What you want is not easy and most software programs like VNC will do a icon change notifing the user of monitoring presence.
If you can't talk to her openly and trust her you are already divorced.

Added registry flag to cleanly disable the tray icon on all platforms and in all modes without affecting other settings. The default is "0" and indicates that the tray icon should not be disabled. There are several ways to do it.
1. You can use remote administrator software. I recommend RAdmin (shareware). Let it run as a service on startup. All you need is your home PC IP address to view your home computer from your work PC just as you were sitting in front of it. RAdmin includes the viewer (client) and server part. It is less then 2MB in size and is very very powerful piece of software. You must of course install the software on your work computer as well.
2. Use a keylogger software. I recommend iopus star pro www.iopus.com. You can instruct the program to email you logs as often as you require and you have an option to take snapshots of the desktop included. Star Pro runs in invisible mode so only the most advanced users will be able to remove it. Logs contain details of every program you run, every message that appears on the screen and everything you type on your keyboard.

I agree, you should defiantly talk to her. Even if it is true, a webcam performance will be hard to classify as "cheating" although maybe in some states. Anyway if you are hell bent on seeing it for yourself you can find out for whom she is performing and try to watch it for yourself. That is if it is a chat room login into said chatroom. Or if you need zero notification control of the machine many 'Trojans' are designed just for that. You could also check software logs on your home machine to see what shes been up to. Installing a Key Stroke Logger will also let you see what she is up to. There are a dozen other things that can be done also. HOWEVER, somethings wrong when you have to pull this kind of sh!t over on your own wife!

I would say that this is more like masturbation than cheating, at least she's not meeting anyone,,,,(yet ! )But like the above says, lots of shareware to use to view the pc just like you were there in front of it yourself, just takes some clandestine setting up and stuff.
BTW, what is her chat handle and which room does she go in? I'll see if I can "catch" her for you, :-D

I cannot believe so many people have fell for this.
If by the slightest chance it is true then what you should do (you wimp) is this.
Put in a holiday at work. pretend to set off for work but park your car down the street out of the way.
Sneak back into your house and hide somewhere untill you think is a good time to appear. then bat her over the head with a spade.
Thats What i would do.

I suggest hiding yourself between the floor boards, and using a series of well placed pin holes combined with a couple of laproscopic cameras to keep tabs on that cheating spouse. Make sure you take some food, and water....and dont forget a bottle to pee in, as once you have wedged yourself in there, you dont want to have to blow your cover when the urge to pee takes hold.
Failing that, I often find I can keep tabs on people for weeks by sewing myself into the lining of their living room curtains.
For a slightly mor technological approach, you could buy a wireless CMOS camera £199 from www.maplin.co.uk, and mount it near the monitor. You can then record her every move...mwaha...mwahaha....wmahahahahahaha!

If you want to log her key strokes without any software you can buy a device called a Keykatcher. It plugs in between the keyboard connector and the keyboard, so basically it goes where the keyboard goes and the keyboard plug into it. When you want to read what she has been typing and I mean everything even passwords just open any text editor and type the keykatcher password and it will dump its data to the text editor ms word works great for this. The device only cost $50 or $80. It comes with instructions and you can even use it on any computer. Its a good way to spy on employees as well. We use them at Wells Fargo Bank when we monitor certain employees and they have no clue at all since the product does not require any special software to install that can be seen by anyone.
Its easier to catch keyboard strokes and is good to have along with screen captures of you monitoring her from work.

well there is a program called keylogger and wife spy on http://www.GuardPrivacy.com it will log the screenshot on local pc or u can watch live form the remote location . Yes, you can hide from the tray icon.
i hope it helps and she is not cheating.
