Is it possible to change the page file size by directly editing any files?
I'm having a problem in that when I login and Windows starts to load my user settings it throws me back out to the login dialog again. I'm not sure it is a page file problem but when I try to boot in safe mode I get a message about needing to increase ther page size before again being kicked out. Since I can't login (with any profile) I can't set the page file in the normal way. I've found a setting in the registry (I've installed windows on a secondard hd) but I can't find where this setting is located in a file.
Any help much appreciated

Sounds like you have the paging option DISABLED... You can right mouse click on the MY COMPUTER icon and then click PROPERTIES... Then go to PERFORMANCE then SETTINGS, then ADVANCED. The swap file option will be at the bottom of the page...

If your machine is connected to a network, you can set your pagefile size from another workstation. A reboot is required.
Here's the syntax: (reg.exe from the resource kit is required)
reg update "hklm\system\currentcontrolset\control\session manager\memory
management\pagingfiles=C:\pagefile.sys 267 267;D:\pagefile.sys 251 251" \\workstation

Unfortunately it's a standalone machine so no remote administrating.
And I can't change any of the settings because I can't logon in the first place, which is why I can only presume I'd need a backdoor route.
Could the logon problem be anything else?
