hello-- i have 3 partitions each with win2k. how can i change the name and order in which they all appear at the startup screen? thanks

On the root of C: there is a file called Boot.ini This file is read only, so you will have to change that first, you can then change the order under Operating Systems. N.B. Ensure you change the file back to Read Only or your PC will not boot at all.

That statement by Phyto is a bunch of crap. It doesn't have to be set to read only. It is set to "read only" to keep some unknowing person from deleting or changing it.
