Comment:

I've developed a problem recently--something I inadvertently caused no doubt--that occurs during start-up. Instead of going to my account, Windows always logs on as "Guest". I then have to go in and log off "Guest" and then type in my name for the login box that then appears. How, please, do I restore the original configuration that will just log me own as the owner of this machine whenever I boot up?

Goto Control Panel --> Users and Passwords

On the Users Tab - tick the Users Must enter a user name and password.... box.

If you leave it like that you'll have to type your user/pass each time to log on. Or you can un-tick it again and hit apply, it'll ask for the user name and password of the account you want to automatically log on with.

Thank you! That worked just fine. Everything is back to normal now. Thanks again.
