Is there a way to increase a pagefile accross a network?

I restored a Drive Image onto a new hard drive.
The image took and I booted up the system.
When I go to log on it says my page file size is too small or is non-existant.
Right click my computer and change the page file size.
When I click the "OK" button to close the message it takes me right back to the login screen.
I tap CTRL-ALT-DEL, type my username and password, and the message comes up again.

I am logging on as an admin. This is a small home network of 2 computers.
I figured there must be a way to increase pagefile.sys from accross the network.

yes?/No?

To be honest, I don't know if you can increase it across a network...the thought never occured to me as it would be terribly slow.

What you can do, and what I have done is this. If you have a 2'nd hard drive, create a 1 to 2 GB partition at the begining of the 2'nd HDD and label it Pagefile. Then, move your pagefile to that drive. Having your pagefile on a separate HDD from the OS will improve performance as well as free space on the OS partition.

If you don't have a 2'nd HDD, you could create the same partition at the front of your HDD and then create the OS partition behind it and again, move the pagefile to the partition at the front after installing the OS.

The main advantage of doing this (other than increasing performance) is that you aren't likely to ever run out of room for the pagefile, which can, and does happen when you leave it located in the OS partition if you make a smaller OS partition.

I guess I was not clear enough on my question. My apologies.

I do not want to run my pagefile accross a network. I know the consequences of that. (Bad idea)

I need to, hopefully, issue a command in my second computer to increase the pagefile size on my first computer.

example: c:\> Set pagefilesize \\firstcomputer 512
(I know that is not a command, but merely trying to show what I need to do.)

I am unable to log on to the computer in question. When I try it tells me my pagefile is too small. When I press the OK button it brings me right back to the login screen.

Barring that, I will need to reformat or try to copy the image again. I have the original hard drive intact.

What is the best way to copy the contents from the old drive to the new drive? I used Powerquest Deploy Center. I have used it before for this purpose but have never run into this problem.
