I just installed Windows 2000 Professional on a blank, new HD. However, setup refused to create anything else than one big 60 GB partition of the entire hard rive. So, I installed normally. Then, I used Partition Magic to split the drive into two pieces: one that Windows Explorer says is 29,3 GB and one 27,8 GB. But now, I've got a few questions:
1) The second (empty) half of the HD was given the letter F, i.e. after the CD and DVD stations. How do I change it to D in the easiest way?
2) Windows Explorer seem to be not so good at counting: It says 1,49 GB of the first drive is used, but when I select all folders and hit properties it says they're only 745 MB!! Same goes with the second partition: Though the drive is empty it says the total size is 27,8 GB and the amount of free space is also 27,8 GB. But then, how can it also claim that 65 MB is used?!?!?!

You can change drive letters in Disk Manager which is located in Administrative Tools >> Manage Computer

in response o the second question.
I am assuming you have both disks formatted in NTFS....yes? I dont know the whys and wherefores but when formatted it takes up a bit more space than win 98 does.
The first part u said that it shows 1.49gb used. do you have all files and folders showing as if you have hidden folders it will not show the space used on the hidden ones.
