Hi guys, any suggestion of changing my IP address in Win2K the easiest and safest way? My IP was abused by someone in IRC and therefore I had my IP banned in some of my fave channels. Begging the OPs to unban me wouldn't do any good because they claimed that I have been 'messing around' in the channel. As far as I know I never mess around because I seldom log in. During my hiatus 2 weeks ago, someone had used my nick and the result is my IP is banned. I wish to get back in the channels and is the idea of changing my IP in Win2K helps? Please advice.
Abused :(

Are you on a LAN connection, cable od Dial-up.
If it is a LAN connectino then IRC only sees one IP address, so it could be abyibe ib your LAN (unless the admin is publishing seperate IP's for each nic, which I doubt) If it is cable/dsl you can release and renew. If that doesn't work, you will have to contact your ISP. Almost all dial-up connections assign a new ip number every time you connect to the network

Thanks for the reply,
Just to let you know that my connection is a LAN. So no other options about changing IP's?

Hey i wanna change my irc ip, so when someone looks me up it says hello@sfeerl.erjkl.net which a lot of people have, i have been attacked and banned from chans so i wanna new start!msg me!

obviously use a proxy man, no need of all the crap, just use a proxy.
want 1?
goto hmmm
hmmmm
thinking of 1 that wont make u too much of a pro...
use http://www.atomintersoft.com/products/alive-proxy/proxy-list/ull see many "IP:port" like things
pick one, and then go to ur mIRC options, to FIREWALL section
tik the use proxy option ON!
and make sure PROXY is selected below it
in the hostname enter the IP of the proxy u picked
next 2 fields are blank, leve it blank
then in the port section, enter the port of the proxy.
dc and reconnect.
out of 20 atleast one should work! :)
enjoy
