change computer name

my server is windows 2000 family server and i,m using domain ..... i rename one workstation which i connected (windows 2000 pro.) to the server but still when i search about the computer it,s showing the old name i don,t know why ??

You may have to go to the server and delete that workstation in "Computer Manager". I believe that workstation is holding on to the original SID that was created. Then reboot (cold) the workstation. (This is off the top of my head, so forgive is slightly incorrect. However, this should work) When I can verify, I'll repost if not correct. Have Fun !!!!
