I have an older cdrw but my system doesn't recognize it. I have been able to get it to work by uninstalling it and rebooting the computer but that doesn't work now. Any suggestions as to what to look for and where that will make the cdrw work consistently?

Yes, it is an IDE and the hard drive is the only other thing on the cable. This has been working fine like that for a couple of years and now all of a sudden it doesn't work anymore, so I know it is not the way it is installed. Any other suggestions?
