Comment:

I have upgraded to Win2000 Pro and my Cdrom drives work fine but every time I boot up I receive an error message after signing on as administrator it device manager or something looks for my cdrom and dvdrom drives and then says unable to load CDROM installer contact harware vendor. After this message a Hardware driver wizard looks for a driver but does not find a solution. Please help in a solution for me and maybe others. Thanks

Reply:

type at start\run "sysedit" then
1.erase at c:\config.sys
the driver of the cdrom
for example
driver=c:\cdrom /v
2.erase at autoexec
this line c:\dos\mscdex.exe or c:\windows\comand\mscdex
save setting
and reboot
