Does anyone know what the CD-RoM drivers for Windows 2000 are? I can see my CD-ROM in device manager, but it says windows can't load the drivers, yet there is a driver there?
Help!

I'm not sure what your problem is?

If the CD rom drive is working, and you can read cd's then i wouldnt worry about it.

most generic IDE/ATAPI cd rom drives work with windows' built-in cdrom driver...

You can always put in a 9x boot disk and direct 2000 to the MSCDEX file on it. It will run any CDrom but is a basic DOS driver.
Download Belarc advisor from belarc.com and it will tell you what kind of CDrom you have and you can then do a driver search for it.
If you just replaced you CDrom, unhook it and remove all drivers from device manager. Reboot and then shut down and hook it back up. 2000 should load the correct drivers if they are in it's database.
Try these and post back one way or another. Good luck.

Simply type msinfo32 at the command prompt and find out the cd-rom driver.

Did you recently uninstall easy CD creator?

If you did do a search on M$ site for CD-ROMs dont work after uninstalling easy CD creator.

Thier is a registry key you will need to edit.

I had a similar problem, and solved it by installing Nero. Instantly had the cdroms
working properly.
