I'm using Win2K sp3. Ive just burned 736,593,920 bytes to 13x702MB CDRs. This has completely packed the CDR. The method used was .ZIP spanning to create the 13x736,593,920 bytes .zip files for each CDR.
The problem I'm having is testing/restoring data from these CDRs using WinZip 8.1, the only GUI extractor I've found that can show the full .ZIP index and allow one to insert the specific .ZIP file (CDR) to extract the select file. When creating these CDRs I used Nero Burn but didnt bother giving each CDR a new Volume Label -- I simply cleared the contents of the data window and burned another CDR. Now on testing/restoring the .ZIP files from CDR Winzip will ask for the specific .ZIP file and when I point it to the CDR it reports that the file is not found.
Opening explorer to view the contents of the CDR reveals it to be incorrect data as if Windows isnt refreshing the CDROM contents to reflect the newly inserted CDR. So if Winzip checks and completes .ZIP.Z01 and asks for .ZIP.Z02 and I specify the location for the file WinZip will error being unable to find the file. Under the DOS console or explorer the CD contents remains as .ZIP.Z01 when in fact it actually has .ZIP.Z02.
What is happening? Is there a way to resolve this problem? Does this have to do with the Volume having the same label for each CDR? Why doesn't "refresh" work?

i don't know what your problem is right off.
but you could use a proggy called CD-R Diagnostic to "rip" the .zip file off the CDR.
also note that you could compress the file more using WinRAR, leaving a small ammount of space on the CD for any overhead there might be. not sure if this is the problem.
