I have just installed 256mb SDRAM Pc100 on my (ageing) pc. When I switched it back on everything looked ok, Hardware profiles stated that the RAM had registered.
However my CD ROM is now refusing to work. Its is a creative labs CD3630E AC101(thats what it says in properties) I can right click on CD Icon and eject.
I have tried un-installing and re-installing the drivers.

Try going into the device manager and uninstalling the CD-ROM device. Then reboot and reinstall it and the necessary drivers and see if that doesn't do the trick.
