Can't read CD-RW's in W2K

Hi,
For some reason, my W2K can't seem to be able to read my CD-RW's. They read fine in Win 98. My CD-RW's are by Imation 4x compatible. Any help?

What type of CDRom do you have ? Did you check the HCL ? How old is the system ? Is the drive a Mitsumi or Atapi ? How is it chained to the cable ? IDE or SCSI ? Detailed info, come on now :) .....

Well, I have a Toshiba Tecra 8000 laptop, and my CD-ROM is built-in, a Toshiba 24x CDROM. System's one year old.
No, I didn't check the HCL. How do you do that?

HTTP://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/compatibility [I think] - If not, go to mainpage and click compatibilty test. Search for your equipment. I dont see why it wouldnt work, but I am not a laptop expert. Espessially because windows 2000 is the "laptop operating system" -- A 24x should be fine... I dunno. If I find anything, Ill let cha know !
