Turn the printer off and back on again. Can you print from any other application to that printer? Try printing an email message or a Word document as a test. What model printer?

You need to capture the printer port, although I can't recall how exactly. It's been too long since I've had to do this :P But I DO know that's the problem.

If it's a newer inket printer, then it may not work in DOS at all. Laser printers usually will. Check with the manufacturer. If's it's a local printer, from DOS try dir *.* >LPT1 if it's a network printer, type net use LPT1: \\computername\sharename before you do the dir command. If this works then it's safe to say it's a problem with the application you are using.
