I have one machine configured as follows:
- Windows 2000 Advanced Server
- Internal Intel 2100 DSL modem
- IIS 5 installedJust got static IP addresses from Qwest. I went to TCP/IP properties and entered the Gateway static IP address plus the two DNS server IP addresses they gave me. I can access the internet just fine, so I assume I put those IPs in the correct places. I can also ping my own machine. Well, they also gave me 5 IPs I can use for whatever. I want to host a couple web sites, so I created a website and gave it one of the static IPs. I can't ping it (server not found) and when I run trace route on the IP I assigned to that website, it looks like it goes to a Qwest server then to my machine, then back to the Qwest server, then back to my machine, and so on. It never gets to the website. The site is set (by default) for anonymous access.
What's up?
Jay

Hi Jay,
I think you have to bind those IPs which you are giving to web sites to your machines Just do that andlet me know the progress.Best of Luck

Make sure you are not pinging within your own firewall. Have someone else on the other side ping your IIs

How do I bind the website's IPs to my machine's IP? Can't seem to find a way in Network properties.
Thanks,
Jay
