Can't log into hotmail ..??

October 15, 2005 at 17:04:17
Specs: Win2K, 3.4 / 1GB

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this msg, but here it goes:
I've been having a problem signing in to Hotmail for the past couple of weeks. I know this sound like an Old issue and I have searched almost everywhere and tried everything but still can't find the right solution for this problem??

My messenger works fine and it indicates that I have e-mails, but wheather I click on the Icon from the messenger or try to connect through Hotmail web site I get the same blank white page with no error msg's ..?
I disabled the firewall, anitvirus..etc and I also changed the security options of my browser, I also deleted the Temp Int Folder as well as the cookies. Upto this point I can say I have tried almost every possible thing ( but with NO success). However, when I use my wifes PC I can sign in with no problems !! So, I have reached to a point to formate my PC and re-install win2k again, and yes my PC is now uptodate with the lastes patches and all, but didn't solve my problem.
I would realy appreciate it is anyone could solve this issue for me.
Thanks in advance ..

Hi,
It is an odd problem. Try this, make sure your logged in as admin,
1.)un-installing msn, delete all files from - Document and Settings- Administrator- Application Data- Microsoft- MSN Messnger.
2.)Empty all temp folders from, Document and Settings- Administrator- Local Settings- Temp. Also clear all other temp folders, cookies, history, etc....
3.)Reboot. Reinstall messenger and put in your account info. Hopefully this works. If it dont then goto Microsoft support site and post your problem there. They should be able to help you.

Dear mohn, I have already tried all these and it didn't change anything, besides I don't have a problem with Messenger (messenger works fine) it's my e-mails that I'm concerned about. I've recently formated my PC and its got all the latest drivers, patches and updates, I just can't log into my e-mail account to view /or read my e-mails.However, my account(s) work perfect on my wifes PC which is using the same internet connection line.
If u have any other idea's pls let me know, meanwhile I'll post this in Micro$oft support and see what can I come up with.

Thanks for ur reply.

Hi,
Well I looked around different forums and found that there was alot of people having same issue. What I got from reading all the posts was that it was a server problem or some sort of connection problem. One idea is to try bypassing the router and connecting directly to the internet from your pc. You may have to reset internet connections. Also try unchecking Automaticaly Detect Settings under tools - internet options - Lan settings. Also reset security settings to default, clear history and cookies. Reset password for hotmail. Also maybe try unplugging the modem and router for a few minutes to change it's settings. These are all long shots. Also I found a patch from micro$oft that may help also.
