Comment:

I'm using Windows 2000.

The computer boots up.
It does nothing when I try to log in with
"control alt delete" .
I'm getting a response from the keyboard
so I know it works and I have even tried a
second keyboard.
I have unplugged firewire devices, turned
the computer on and off, booted up with
last known good configuration with no
luck.

I would try to boot to DOS with a floppy and see if the Keyboard work in DOS mode. If it does then there maybe something in the NTloader that is screwed up. I don't know how to fix it just trying to help you isolate your problem better.
If the keyboard doesn't work at a DOS prompt, I might try to reset System BIOS back to defaults.
