Comment: When I try to install Windows 2000 I get a message saying Windows 2000 can't find my Hard Drive.......which is strange since I can install and run 98 on it just fine. Has anyone ever heard of this problem and what I can do to get past it? Thanks

Reply: (edit)Are you trying to install Windows 2000 under a new NTFS partition or are you doing it under a FAT32? Also, if you are doing it under Windows 98, it won't work. You would have to boot off the CD drive. If you are going to dual boot with Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows ME, a FAT32 partition would be recommended. If you are only going to have Windows 2000 on your computer, or you are trying to dual boot with other NTFS partitions under Windows NT 3.51 and 4 or Windows XP, NTFS would be recommended, but FAT32 can also be used.

Reply: (edit)I have found that wiping the HD completly and installing from the Win 2k disk solves a lot of "quirks". It seems that if you try to install off of Win98, a bunch of useless crap is left behind (causing a lot of strange problems).

Reply: (edit) I was installing to a clean HD with nothing on it at all (stick CD in and reboot). But I have also tried it with my old HD with 98 on it and get the same error. Scott
