Comment:

I have a PIII 933Mhz system with 256 MB of RAM. The motherboard is a M756LMRT+. When installing Windows 2000 Professional I get a "Hardware Malfunction - Contact your hardware vendor" message. However, the system works fine with Windows ME/98/95, which indicates a compatibility problem and not a hardware malfunction. What can I do to solve this problem?

Put Win 2K Pro in CD-Rom
Click start, run, cmd
change to cd-rom drive letter (ex.) d:
d:cd i386
d:\i386>winnt32 /checkupgradeonly

A report will follow with problems if found.
