Hi, I'm trying to istall MS-Office 2000 on my W2K, but when the Windows Installer screen pops up it gets stuck for a while and then another message pops up saying " The system cannot read from the specified device" .. I can run other softwares on the CD Rom .. and the office 2000 CD is good, as I used the CD on other PC's and it worked fine .. Please help.

if it can be installed on another PC successfully, if they are networked, share tthe other PC's CD-ROM and install it from the share across the network

I've had a similar problem twice "data.msi" I think. The first time it was one of the memory modules, I had 2x512 and never experienced any problems. Friend recommended pulling one out and trying, that worked fine. Then I put the other module and no problems. The second time it was a bad image on the CD.
