can't get through set up

I am trying to install win 2000 on an amd 700 megahert machine. I go through the initial window is loading files screen, ans then it automatically reboots. Anybody have any ideas why I can't set up?

There are a number of things that could cause this problem. Possible causes are: bad memory, CPU overheating, or an inadequate power supply. I suggest you strip the system to a bare minimum: hard drive, CPU, one stick memory and CDRom drive, nothing else. Then during the install recreate the partitions on the hard drive and try installing 2000 one more time. If that works then add the other peripherals one-by-one, testing after each install.

I had the same problem after I moved. The 115/230 switch on my power supply got accidentally put to 230. It fried my CPU. Check that switch too if you have one.
