had to re-install w2k on pc this past week.. I needed to download new ie6; but, I keep on receiving this screen message that "A previous installation has pending work requiring a re-boot. You will need to restart PC to complete installation before running IE6.0 setup. Setup will now close" Well, I have rebooted at least 20x since then & STILL GET THE SAME DUMB MESSAGE!. Any ideas?

What version of IE are you using now??
I would try to reinstall it first and then run IE6setup.exe.
You could go to the control panel, add remove programs and select Internet explorer it will likely give you an option of repairing the current install of IE. The following article provides a little bit of info. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q194177
If this does not work look in the C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer, in one of the subfolders for setup.exe and try to run that.
Good Luck!!!
