can't force TCP/IP to reinstall FROM CD

Hi -
Something bad has apparently happened to some of the files needed for TCP/IP on my 2000 (pro) server. They're gone. I've tried reinstalling TCP/IP, but I never even get prompted for the CD; it's trying to copy them from the local HD, and it thinks it's successful.
I've tried uninstalling the network card and all the drivers, rebooting, detecting the nic, and reinstalling from there - BUT THERE'S STILL NO WAY FOR ME TO FORCE IT TO INSTALL FROM THE CD!!!
Please tell me I'm missing something simple. I don't have the time to spare for a full system reinstall. I also don't know exactly what files are missing, just that TCP/IP is hosed.
