Crap crap crap. I need help, as soon as I can get it.
Gotta format this HD but it won't work! Tried creating a bootdisk with config.sys, autoexec.bat and ntldr, but then it says the boot.ini is invalid. I don't know how to change the boot.ini file to make it valid. SO I went with the four Win2k startup disks that you create with the CD ROM drive and went in to repair using the console (basically just a DOS prompt). I type format C: /s, but apparently, /s is not a recognized command; I can only choose to do a quick format and/or choose the filing system.

Yo, i would just go to bootdisk.com and download a windows 98 bootdisk. then reboot to the floppy and run fdisk and then format. or if you have a windows 2000 disk, you can go into the bios and set it to boot from the cd. there you can format and reinstall.

Go with yo yo ma. Don't forget that if your disc is NTFS, fdisk won't recognise it. Choose the option to delete non dos partitions until there are no partitions left, then create a primary dos partition and leave the rest to your W2K disc. Have fun ChrisE
