I want to add a 3rd hd to my system but since all the IDEs are full (2 hds, cd, zip) and all the PCIs are full (5 slots all taken) I got an ISA controller card. It is a goldstar prime 2. I am pretty sure the thing works right because after plugging it in I got a lpt i/o error that I was able to fix but it cannot seem to find the extra hd. Am I missing anything here

Make sure it can see the card correctly and then try the drive. Check Device Manager and Event Viewer and such to make sure things are working fine...

Hi,

If messing around with it still don't previel, maybe an alternating source would to expense 20 bucks on a new Promise ATA card. Because your old card may not even give the full potential of an ATA 100 that most new HDD comes with.
