Can't find boot.ini

I have searched on all my harddrives, and i can't find the boot.ini file to edit the boot menu

reboot ur computer and star win98 (if u have it installed)
then just make sure u have "show all hided and systemn files" marked u should see boot.ini in ur C:\
that was how i found that file..

on win2K
start\setting\control panel\folders options\view
on view check (Show idden files and folders )
and
UNCHECK (hide protected operating system files )
when windows ask you with a warning click
YES
DON"T FORGET TO RECHECK THIS OPTION AFTER !!!

It's weird..the first time I needed to find it I went searching for it too...I had even showed hidden folders. It took me awhile to catch on that you had to uncheck hide protected operating system files...boy are they trying to hide important files this time.

I installed Windows 98 on C: and Windows 2000 on D:, and somehow expected boot.ini to be on D: with Windows 2000 - but it ain't. Look on your first drive/partition.

i hav partition drived c in three partion
no.1 is 3GIG
N0.2 EXTENDES IS 2GIG
AND THE NO.3 I LEFT UNPARTITIONED FOR NT INSTALL

I INSTALL WIN98 ON DRIVEC, WHEN I REBOTED AND CLIKED ON SHOW ALL FILES, I COULD NOT SEE IT,
HOW SHOULD I INSTALL NT 4 SERVER AS A DUAL BOOT SYTEM ON THE CURRENT WIN98 SETUP..

HELP THANKS

step 1: stop SHOUTING!

step 2. in win2k open:
control panel | Admin Tools |Computer Management
select disk management and create a partition from the free space then format it
(an unformatted partition doesn't exist for the o/s)

step 3. install nt4 or whatever (you're on your own here though).
