I have installed Windows 2000 on one of my two partitions and now I wish to start from scratch again.
W2K is located on my extended partition, not the primary one. When I go into 'delete extended DOS partition' it says that it can't because there are no logical drives on that partition. Then when I chose 'delete logical drives' it says it can't because none are defined. When I choose 'create logical drives' it says that it can't because there already is one present. Basically, any option I choose on fdisk won't work.
If you see where I am going with this, then we are on the right track. I can do nothing to erase my partition and worse yet my W2K system is out of action right now so I am forced to work from DOS. I also have nothing on my primary partition.
Any suggestions would be welcome, if anyone can tell me how to erase my partitions.

You can use a dos based program called delpart. MS has it on the NT resource kit or you can download it here

You can delete it by running the install CD. It will offer a section when it asks where U want to install 2K. Just specify where it is already and it will ask if U want to format the partition.

Using a DOS based bootdisk just start the fdisk program and choose the 'delete partition' option. On the delete menu choose "Delete non-DOS partition" that's your NTFS partition. Fdisk reports an NTFS partition as being non-DOS (don't ask me why...ask Bill) Once you've deleted it, recreate it as FAT32 and format it.
Summary: remove with fdisk the w2k partition and create a new partition for w98 then format the partition if you cant remove the partition with fdisk then you can use pfdisk from my page http://plop.at ...

Summary: Hi guys, I get a "ntoskrnl.exe is missing or corrupted" message at W2k boot-up (in fact, I've got both W2K and XP on the PC). Do you know if the W2K CD-Rom can repair this error? If not, can I remove ...
