When I try to copy files from my Win2K laptop to my WinXP desktop, I'm suddenly getting an error: "Cannot copy [filename]: Access is denied. The source file may be in use." I've done this many times before with no problem. I have all the necessary rights and the source files are not in use. What can be causing this error?

It sounds like there may be other apps on either your laptop or your desktop which are attempting to access the files as you're copying them; you could try to confirm this by first copying the files on your laptop to a separate folder. For example, if they normally are in your My Documents folder, try copying them to C:\TEMP.
Then, copy from C:\TEMP to your Desktop and see if the error occurs again.
