winME=192.168.0.2
the subnet for both is 255.255.255.0i have tried about everyting.
any help would be greatly appreciated
thank you

ME doesn't work correctly on a network. Unexplained problems are: connection problems like yours, network drives disappear for unexplained reasons, even the entire ME machine will disappear off of a network.
See: http://www.winmag.com/windows/winme/longterm/default.htm
You may wish to use Win98SE on the ME machine.

hmmm, nice info,..... : ) maybe thz why XP
is coming in so fast... what you think
about MAC OS X coming MAC17 or 16
can't remember... should be cool cruz
they also got memory allocation for each
application..etc. and the mach and BSD
root.. should be hella cool for networking!
maybe kill some linux market shares, too!

take no notice of that CRUD from above. ME works ok even on the network, It is only the Geeks who play that have the problems, Set up CORRECTLY and treated PROPERLY ME WORKS WELL.
Have you remapped the drive from the machine you are searching from. If you have mapped a drive letter to your ME machine and it has been lost by that machine it will still show, but access is not available. Delete the mapped drive and then remap. Its worth a try, but belive me ME is OK

Windows ME runs networking fine. I have no problems connecting to it from my Win2k computer. You have to be sure that File and Printer sharing is turned on first though...it isn't turned on by default.

I have a network at home and have a couple of WinME clients, you are crazy to say WinME doesn't work with networking, even if it is a home os, it does work as a network client. Paul, can you ping your computer from the box that cannot see it? Also, when you try to map a drive, does it map it or give an error message? Joe
