My CD burner, Sony CD-RW CRX140E, will not under any circumstances burn CD-RW's but burns CD-R's with no problem at all.
The Disks themselved have no problems, i tried burning things on them on other computers.

A little more information may help.
Do you mean it just will not work and you get no action at all?
Or, do you get any reports, warnings, advice?
Have you got DMA activated?
What speed are recording at? and is it compatible with the disc you are using, it may be compatible on another machine so this is no true test.

Without checking into it...is the device capable of recording in the -rw format versus +rw formatted media? Look at the documentation.

To enable DMA, you will need to get access to the Device Manager. Scan down to your IDE controller and select the Primary IDE channel. Go to the advanced settings tab. For each device, set its device type to Auto Detection, and its transfer mode to DMA if available (this works for your CD-ROM as well). Repeat the process for the Secondary IDE channel and then reboot. You should see a very nice performance boost.

Your Sony CRX140E cannot burn to 12X CD-RWs. You have to use 1-4X CD-RWs.
