i have installed several programs already on w2k. problem is, when i want to uninstall or remove a program, i don't have that option. in the add/remove programs window, i get an error prompt about the class not being registered or something. and all the programs are there but when i highlight one to remove, the "remove" button is greyed out. what's going on?

Sounds like someone has been deleting program folders and not using add/remove programs. Get a registry cleaner program to help clean up your registry.

I had that same problem!
I discovered that a DLL file named "MSDART.DLL" was corrupted.
After i restored that file, it worked perfectly. I don't know if is your solution though. Good luck..

I really doubt that your problem can be solved like mine was, because I think Paul is right about your problem being caused by improper un-installs.
If you really want to know, i got MSDART.DLL from my WinXP installation (I'm dual booting). I just copied it into the right directory, which in my case was: C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Ole DB

you can remove the programs from the registry manually very easily. no need for third party SW.
